Saying Goodbye to an Awesome Store... Gnosis will be no more.

I hate giving bad news but this is definitely... bad news. Gnosis store and gallery will be closing it's doors at the end of the month. This amazing vinyl toy shop simply couldn't cope with the recent economic downfall and now has to close. This is terrible news for Indy and the surrounding area as Gnosis was the only store of it's kind in the state. I spoke to the owner for a long time the other day, surrounded by all of the toys and local art, chatting about random stuck-up clients that would come in and talk about how f#@^ed up her merchandise was. She also spoke to me about the amazing people that supported her store and truly loved the culture that she was trying to bring to our city.  It's just a damn shame that we couldn't do more.

On a positive note... Gnosis WILL be going forward with their "Mind's Eye Custom Toy Show," on the 20th of this month! I was in the store one day last month and the owner (Kris) told me about this show and said anyone could enter and there weren't any rules other than size of the entry. How awesome is that?! No place... and I mean, no place... has had any event like that. Just another reason why it will be real sad to see Gnosis go.

So please... I implore you to come out on March 20th and support local and regional artists as well as Gnosis. It should be a very cool show with lots of wild toy confections! TheVision will be there with several custom toys on display... and let me tell you, they're nathty!

Oh yeah... if you like toys... Gnosis has most of their toys for 20% off this week! Get in there and get a nice deal on something cool! They're right in Broad Ripple next to the gyro joint.

Here's the flyer for the show:

Here's Grey Granite's interview (from earlier this year) that we recorded in Gnosis. There's a small interview with the owner at the end.
