Grey: So you are the winner of the 2008 sneaker party contest!

HOLLA!!

Grey: How confident were you about winning that night, did you know you had it in the bag?

Not confident at all. I entered the contest last year and I thought my kicks were sick then! You just never know what the judges want to see..

Grey: So tell me about the sneakers that won:

Adidas Metro Attitude Hi. The "Attitude" is perfect! I found them online and they have been hanging out in the box for a few months, waiting for a special occasion.

Grey: How long have you been a sneaker head?

Years! It's a habit, but I LOVE it..

Grey: What's your favorite shoe?

The Adidas Hi that I wore in the last competition.

Grey: Yeah this one is my fav! I think it should have won last year.

Grey: What elusive sneaker do you really want but haven't been able to capture?

I am satisfied at the moment, but maybe the Ferris Bueller Nike SB Dunks Hi. They have leopard detail. I am pretty sure they are men's only tho..which is out for me since I wear a women's 5.6-6 or kids 4.5-5.

Grey: My man MetroGnome has those they are dope- I want'em

Grey: So I know these shoes can be a down payment on a car-what's the most you have ever spent on a pair?

I am pretty successful at shopping around to get the best deal online, so really not way too much..maybe $150..?

Grey: If it's not giving away too much info, what's your favorite place to shop?

In town. Got Sole? of course! But I buy most of my kicks online..better chance that you won't see anyone else wearing them. Ebay, Ebay, Ebay! Even if they don't have what you want right now, you can save a search and it will email you as soon as the item is listed. I purchased my latest Nike Aerofit High Silver from bombingscience.com. (see pic) I also have used Kendo LA, which only carries women's and kids.

Grey: I had a hard time explaining the subculture to my mother she's like, "pay what for tennis shoes?" What does your mother think about this hobby?

She has always gave me a hard time about my habit/addiction! We would be walking through the mall when I was younger and as we would pass any shoe store, she would cover my eyes and pull me the other way.. She is ok with it now, probably because she's not buying them anymore..

Grey: I'm sure there is at least one brand that you would never wear- who gets the thumbs down?

I am strictly Nike, Adidas, and sometimes Puma in that order.. I guess I'm really not into Jordans.

Grey: Sometimes Puma's ??? I love puma!
Grey: And last question, what theme music was playing when you were getting ready (at home) for your big win?

Upbeat! (ie John Legend Green Light!)

  1. Even though I'm not a sneaker head, I respect y'all's obsession. Sorry I missed the soiree this year (I was extremely under the weather).

Congrats, Erin! Way to represent for the ladies!!
