No disrespect to my melanin deficient friends. I just don't get it. These guys might be IN funny movies or shows. But, they don't make me laugh...at all! Trust me, I could make a Top 100 list of Black Comedians who aren't funny (i.e every Comic on Comic View the last 10 years). But, that would be too easy. IMO. These guys are HIGHLY OVERRATED!
5. DANE COOK
Sorry. I just don't get it.He just beat out his twin brother Ryan Reynolds, who only escaped because he was in the movie below. Anyone who has worked in the service industry can dig this.
oh snap. Dane Cook was in this too. This was the only thing that kept Ryan off the list.Hmmmm
edit: #5 Dane Cook/Ryan Reynolds
4. JIMMY FALLON
...LAME!!!
3. Owen Wilson
This guy owes Vince Vaughn for allowing him to share camera time in Wedding Crashers. On top of that, this dude has been in helly movies.
Thanks Vince, but next time ditch ya boy.
2. STEVE MARTIN
Damn. The tightest moment this man has ever been a part of...
...I couldn't find the three amigos dance. Sorry.
1. SETH ROGEN
Man. This dude was in McLovin...I mean Superbad and he still couldn't come off!!! Please somebody tell me why this dude is getting movie roles. Have you seen Pineapple Express...HOT GARBAGE!!!!
Mclovin needs his own film! NOW!
Side Note: If you can give me some examples of why these guys are funny please leave a comment!!!!
A. Seth rogen isnt just an actor, he's a comedy writer! He wrote the whole movie Superbad, which you apparently think is funny, so there! I think he was great in Knocked up and Superbad--- he's really an actor, he's not really a comedian like a lot of guys on your list that started in stand up.
ReplyDeleteB. The Jerk? Have you seen the Jerk? That movie is funny as balls, and thats Steve Martin at his best for you.
C. Owen Wilson is only funny when he's playing a good character ie: Royal Tennenbaums, Meet the Parents
Dog...EPMD made a whole dance dedicated to Steve Martin dont that count for something? And I hung out with Seth Rogan before which automatically gets him funny status. Q
ReplyDeleteI've never seen The Jerk...so I'll check it out. As far as Seth Rogan being a tight writer. Tell him to hang up the acting and I won't hate on him anymore.
ReplyDeleteand o yeah
Who are you Anonymous?
While we're asking questions.... what is EMPD?
ReplyDeleteAs far as the list... I'm in jbrookinz corner regarding this pack of supposed funny men, save one: Martin, which I'll explain in a minute.
DANE COOK—I don't get it either, strange sounds erupting from your person does not make you a comedian.
JIMMY FALLON—I thought he was funny until I saw him wobble/flop/falter all over his talk show, to me, it looks strikingly similar to Bambi's first steps.
OWEN WILSON—I feel like he deserves my pity, and perhaps my charitable donation (to search for a cure...?) but certainly not for the price of a movie ticket. Luke can stay.
**skipping Steve Martin for a sec...**
SETH ROGEN—yeah, no. nope. Nnnh-nnn.
Ok, so as far as steve Martin goes, watching old SNL shows made me a fan of his, and then, as mentioned above, I saw him in The Jerk, a movie which made me laugh out loud, head to toe, several times.
I won't disagree, the man has portrayed many a bad role in many a bad flick. But if you look, and I suppose if you have the same funny bones as I...then you'll find some of his stuff is absolutely genius. My Blue Heaven. Nuff said.
duly noted.
