HOVERBOARD - NILS GUADAGNIN

I have been waiting for this for like 20 years!!!
The Hoverboard is a project made by Nils guadagnin, a young french artist. This work is born in 2008 for an exhibition named "Back To the future".

It is a copy of the hoverboard from the movie Back to the Future II. Integrated into the board and the plinth is an electromagnetic system which levitates the board. A laser system stabilises the object in the air.
In the making of this work, this artist was thinking about different ways of presenting sculpture. In fact it's a reflexion on the multiple possibilities of how to give a sculpture full spatial autonomy

Although I do love me some J-dilla, my main influences are more towards movie-esque hip hop artist such as DJ Shadow, RJD2, Wax Tailor, and Dan the Automator. I myself give my music a cinematic touch by utilizing themes such as 1940's hollywood b&w romance, b movie sci fi and horror, film noir, and even vintage kung-fu movies.
I recently released a free for download Mini Lp entitled "Last Train To Nowhere" which includes both sampled based and originally composed works. It's overall feel is downtempo and incorporates elements of Bossa Nova , hollywood classic string music, trip hop, and electronica.

I've Been Waiting For This Since I Was 9!

Every Transformers video game has pretty much been shitty. In fact the one for old school 8 bit NES version which was based on the movie was so bad it never came out in the United States.

This game ignores anything Michael Bay related and draws on the mythology of the G1 cartoon and the darkness of the G1 comic. The whole game is set on Cybertron before the Transformers come to Earth and before Optimus Prime is the Autobts leader.

They got the art style right and brought in Peter Cullen to voice Prime. I am just crossing my fingers that it plays as good as it looks.
