Santi White has offered up another cut from her sophomore album Master Of My Make Believe, entitled ‘Disparate Youth’. There have always been nods to 1980s post-punk in White’s music, but here the influence is explicit. Over an XTC style baseline and squalls of guitar, White wards off “stormy weather” and hunts for a “life worth fighting for”. Strident stuff.
‘Disparate Youth’ will be released as an EP on April 8, bundled with remixes from Switch, Amateur Best and The 2 Bears. The album proper will follow on April 23, and is expected to feature contributions from Dave Sitek and Switch.
